WILKES-BARRE, PA (November 17, 2025) -- The King's College men's swimming team returned to Scandlon Natatorium for the first time of the 2025-26 campaign, taking down SUNY-Delhi 126-67 in Saturday's Mental Health Awareness Meet. The Monarchs improve to 5-6 on the season while the Broncos drop to 1-3.
First year
Connor Scheckner broke the pool record in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 54.21. The meet also marked the first sweep under coaches Kellyo Keane and David Rinehimer, as the women's team won their respective match-up with SUNY-Delhi.
The meet began with a strong performance in the 200-yard medley relay, as the team of
Connor Scheckner,
Julian Zoquier,
Chase Kubis, and
Stefan Lakoseljac posted a winning time of 1:47.62.
In the individual events, Christopher Dutko opened with a victory in the 1000-yard freestyle, touching in 12:07.19, while
Christopher Maciejczyk finished second at 12:56.51. The Monarchs added points in the 200-yard freestyle, where
Matthew Maciejczyk placed second in 2:13.22 and
Noah Dunbar followed in third at 2:19.29.
Kubis powered to first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.57, while Lakoseljac earned second at 24.66 and C. Maciejczyk placed fourth at 26.49. In the 200-yard IM, Scheckner claimed the top spot in 2:10.65, with Zoquier taking second at 2:32.90. The Monarchs added more points in the 100-yard butterfly, as
Matthew Maciejczyk finished second in 1:10.81 and Dunbar placed third at 1:13.79.
Kubis continued his strong day by winning the 100-yard freestyle in 50.27, followed by Lakoseljac in second (56.20) and Dutko in third (57.38). Scheckner picked up another victory in the 100-yard backstroke, clocking a pool record time of 54.21. Meanwhile, C. Maciejczyk earned third at 1:07.12.
Dutko dominated the 500-yard freestyle, winning in 5:55.76, and
Matthew Maciejczyk secured second at 6:34.02. In the 100-yard breaststroke, Zoquier finished second with a time of 1:14.56, and Dunbar placed fourth at 1:26.94.
The Monarchs closed the meet with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay, as Kubis, Dutko, Lakoseljac, and Scheckner combined for a time of 1:33.95.
