Women's Basketball Secures First Win

MORRISTOWN, NJ (November 19, 2025) — The King's College women's basketball team took care of business Wednesday night in a 72-64 win on the road against Saint Elizabeth in front of a raucous crowd. The Monarchs held off a late push from the Eagles in the non-conference matchup.

King's came out sharp defensively, holding the Eagles to just 25 points in the first half, and put together a 12 point lead at halftime thanks to Lauren Casey'and Cadie Lewis's work on the glass and Gianna Dickson's shooting. Saint Elizabeth, however, responded with a strong second half, outscoring King's 39-33  behind improved shooting and aggressiveness on the boards. Despite King's being in control for the entire game, the Eagles made it interesting as it was a six point game with 13 seconds left. The Monarchs kept their composure however and put the game away behind two free throws from Layla Orth to silence the loud crowd.

The Monarchs went deep today, as seven players logged 10+ minutes and contributed five or more points for the first time this season. King's field goal percentage (42.4%), free throw percentage (80%), and team rebounds (36) were all season bests.

Casey led the Monarchs with a 20 point, 15 rebound double-double and three blocks on the day. Dickson dropped 18 points and nailed both of her free throws, while Lewis also had a double-double with 11 points and10 rebounds. Claire Aufiero, Taylor Hough, and Orth each had six points, while Irelynd Long chipped in five of her own. King's recorded a season high 10 steals and 15 assists and forced 14 turnovers.

The Monarchs (1–2) are back in action on Saturday, November 22, when they return home to take on SUNY-Morrisville at 1:00 p.m. inside McGrane Gymnasium.
