WILKES-BARRE, PA (November 22, 2025) — The King's College women's basketball team delivered a dominant wire-to-wire performance on Saturday afternoon, powering past SUNY Morrisville, 70–43, inside McGrane Gymnasium. With the win, the Monarchs improved to 2–2 on the season.
King's set the tone early, using strong rebounding and perimeter shooting to build a 20–16 lead after the first quarter. The Monarchs took full control in the second period, outscoring the Mustangs 20–7 behind a pair of key runs and efficient possessions from Cadie Lewis and Irelynd Long, stretching the advantage to 40–23 at halftime.
The momentum continued into the third as King's posted its best offensive quarter of the contest, putting up 22 points—sparked by hot shooting from Gabby Marsola and steady play inside from Lauren Casey. Entering the fourth with a 62–34 lead, the Monarchs coasted through the final frame to secure the 70–43 victory.
Lewis led the way with 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including four three-pointers, while adding three rebounds and four assists. Casey was a force in the paint, recording a game-high 14 rebounds with seven points. Aufiero added a strong 12-rebound, eight-point performance, and Long chipped in eight points and six boards. Off the bench, Marsola provided a spark with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including four made threes.
As a team, King's shot 34.7 percent (25–72) from the field and a sharp 34.4 percent (11–32) from three. The Monarchs dominated the glass with a 55–40 rebounding advantage, forced 13 turnovers, and tallied 17 assists. It was a defensive masterclass as Morrisville was limited to just 30 percent shooting including 10 percent from three (2-20).
The Monarchs (2–2) return to action on Tuesday, November 25, taking on Wilkes inside McGrane Gymnasium. Tip off is set for 6:00 pm.
