WILKES-BARRE, PA (December 17, 2025) -- In the spirit of the holiday season and continuing a cherished tradition at King's College, the King's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted its tenth-annual Team Carol Night on Wednesday, December 3, in McGrane Gymnasium. From timeless favorites to spirited renditions, our student-athletes brought the magic of the season to life through choreographed Christmas carols.

"The men's and women's tennis teams look forward to our Carol Night tradition every year," said Zackary Bedwell, a junior on the men's tennis team. "We practice hard with an obligation to one-up ourselves. It is a great opportunity to grow closer as a team and build chemistry. Thank you to everyone who makes Carol Night possible!"

For the fourth consecutive year, the Monarchs competed in the winter tradition, vying for a prize awarded to the team with the best performance. This year's panel of judges included Associate Vice President for Academic Success Kelly Lettieri, Director of Housing and Residence Life Steve Matusiewicz, Theatre Professor Dave Reynolds, Security Office Brian McNulty, and Equipment Manager Patrick Simmers.

The panel faced a tough task, as every team brought something unique and memorable to the stage. Special recognition was given to the men's and women's volleyball team, who joined forces for their performance, as well as the men's and women's tennis team, also performing together. This year, the Cross Country/Track & Field team charmed the judges and took the crown with their spirited performance of "Baby It's Cold Outside."

"Carol Night is one of the events at King's that truly embodies the feeling of community that comes with going to this school," said cross country / track & field junior Sophia Hahn. "I look forward to Carol Night because it is a night where we all come together, and it gives us a chance to truly step away from the stresses of life and focus on being in the moment. It is memories like these that I will cherish forever. Not many schools do this, and the fact that everyone gets so into it and gives it their all while still coming together and having a great time makes me feel eternally grateful."

The event wrapped up with the tradition of all student-athletes gathering on the court for a team picture and a spirited verse of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas." Carol Night closed out an exciting fall semester for King's Athletics as our student-athletes prepared for finals and headed into winter break.
