PITTSTON, PA (February 1, 2025) – The King's College men's ice hockey team beat the Misericordia University Cougars 2-1 on Saturday night at the Revolution Ice Centre. With the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) win, the Monarchs move to 8-11-1, 6-9-1 in conference play while the Cougars move to 3-11-3, 3-10-2. This is their fourth-straight win.
The game remained scoreless after a tight battle through the first 20 minutes of play.
Braydon Buckingham put the Monarchs ahead 1-0 with a goal at 2:38 in the second period with help from
Teodor Benno Vaage.
Patrick Nowak scored an unassisted goal at 9:36 to extend the lead to 2-0. This score stood going into the second intermission.
The Cougars spoiled the hopes of a shutout midway through the third period as James Eng found the back of the net to cut the Monarchs' lead to 2-1. Cameron Perry was penalized for tripping at 19:35 to seal the deal for the Monarchs. Sophomore goaltender
Diego D'Alessandro notched 23 saves in net.
The Monarchs are back home at the Revolution Ice Centre on Friday, February 7 for a 7 p.m. faceoff with the Alvernia University Golden Wolves.
