Lindsay, Dickson Put up Career-Highs in Close Contest with Stevens

WILKES-BARRE, PA (February 15, 2025) -- Trailing by just seven entering the final 10 minutes of action, the King's College women's basketball team could not finish their comeback as the Monarchs fell, 84-75, to Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday afternoon in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play. The Monarchs fall to 8-15 overall and 4-8 in the standings, while the Ducks improve to 15-8 with a 9-3 conference mark.

Both teams showed off their shooting skills in the first as Stevens (15-8, 9-3 MAC Freedom) shot 68.4% from the floor compared to 53.3% by King's (8-15, 4-8 MAC Freedom). The Ducks took the early lead and saw their advantage jump to as many as 11, 24-13, with 1:56 left in the first, but a pair of triples from Alli Lindsay and three points from Lauren Casey allowed the Monarchs to close within seven, 29-22, at the end of the frame.

The Ducks rattled off four points in response, but Kathy Shepherd drilled a three and Lindsay found Dickson on a nice read on an inbound play to put King's back on top, 55-54, with 5:02 remaining in the third. Stevens had an answer, out scoring the Monarchs 10-3 in the final minutes as King's trailed, 64-57, with 10 minutes left in the contest.

The teams went back-and-forth to start the final quarter, but trailing by 12 with 5:04 to play, Lindsay and Dickson connected from beyond the arc to make it a six-point game, 76-70, with 3:19 to go. Stevens managed to hold off the late comeback in the final minutes as the Monarchs fell, 84-75, on senior day on Saturday afternoon in McGrane Gymnasium.
