Roadrunners' Second Half Surge Downs Women's Lacrosse

WILKES-BARRE, PA (February 22, 2025) -- The King's College women's lacrosse team battled against Ramapo College on Saturday afternoon. The Monarchs fell to the Roadrunners 15-5 in McCarthy Stadium.
 
King's (0-1) started the game with a draw control win by Maria Schneider. Ramapo (2-0) found the back of the net first on a free position shot at 11:37. Harley Sabol forced a Roadrunner turnover to regain offensive control with Sarah Schultz netting a goal soon after to even the score 1-1. The Monarchs were a man-down when Ramapo gained a goal at 7:03. Chloe Burke won the next draw control and found Sydney Stratton for another tally on the scoreboard at 6:27. The Roadrunners netted the last goal of the quarter at 3:31. Heading into the second, King's were down 3-2.
 
Ramapo maintained their momentum with back-to-back goals in the first five minutes of the second quarter. Emilee Schultz found the back of the net at 9:57. The Monarchs continued to pester their visitors with a free position goal by Schneider at 9:18. Burke added another tally to the scoreboard at 6:59 to tie the matchup 5-5. The Roadrunners were not going down silently as they scored two straight to have an 8-5 lead heading into halftime.
 
Ramapo had a surge coming out the locker room and controlled the second half. At the final buzzer, King's lost 15-5.
 
Burke had seven draw control wins, and assist, and a goal. Schneider was right behind with four draw control wins, a goal, and two caused turnovers. Emilee Schultz earned a goal and three ground balls. Sarah Schultz and Stratton tacked on a goal each to the stat sheet. Alyssa Reeber produced six saves between the posts.
 
The Roadrunners' Bethany Glaser had six points on five goals and an assist while also adding six caused turnovers, four ground balls, and three draw control wins. Kassidy Baez and Erin Smeilus collected three goals each. Daniella Indomenico had five saves to end the afternoon.
 
The Monarchs are back in action on the road against Hood at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 1st. The squad will return to McCarthy Stadium on March 5th at 4 p.m. to battle Marywood.
