ASTON, PA (February 25, 2025) -- The King's College men's lacrosse team battled the Neumann Knights on Tuesday evening. The Monarchs fell to the Knights 11-20 on the Neumann Turf Field.

King's (0-1) pushed Neumann (2-1) in the first three minutes of the first quarter, but the Knights found the back of the net first at 12:03. For the next five minutes, the two opponents began trading shots looking to create some momentum. At 7:23,
John Wall found
Ryan Lynch for a Monarch goal to tie the matchup. King's didn't stop there as Wall netted a goal at 6:37. Though the Knights answered back with a 7-0 run to end the first quarter.

After a caused turnover by
Dominic Antonelli, King's found themselves in enemy territory. The Monarchs went on to score back-to-back goals thanks to
Ryan Lynch and
Jake Cierech. Neumann gained two straight tallies to offset King's momentum. The Monarchs stayed composed heading into the half and went on a 3-1 run that included goals by
Ben Spencer and Cierech to make the score 7-11.

The hosts capitalized on a man-up opportunity to gain the first tally after the break. The Monarchs put up prime real estate as
Brenden Lynch scored two straight goals in his first collegiate game. From then on, the quarter was scoreless as both sides battled it out. The clock struck 0:04 when Wall found the back of the net to make it a two-point ball game.

Neumann was not going to make it easy for their visitors as they controlled the fourth and final quarter with a lasting 8-1 run. King's lost 11-20 at the final buzzer.

The Monarchs finished with 46 shots and 18-21 on clears. Wall led the team with five points on four goals and one assist.
Brenden Lynch had two goals and a team-high six ground balls. Spencer and Cierech followed with their own two goals each.
Ryan Lynch pushed the offense with two assists and a goal. On the defensive end,
Josh Hilpp,
Ryan Dolphin, and
Erik Matulevicius had two caused turnovers a piece.
Ryan Rickards collected 12 saves between the posts.

Neumann ended with 28 shots and 13-22 on clears. Brendan Boschi fueled the offense with 10 points on seven goals and three assists. Connor Hurley was right behind with four goals of his own. Jake Methlie gathered 14 groundballs and went 19-21 in faceoffs. Owen Avelar had 17 saves in goal.

King's are back on the road on Saturday, March 1
st at 1 p.m. as they take on the Susquehanna Riverhawks. The squad will have their home opener against Marywood on Wednesday, March 5
th at 7 p.m. in McCarthy Stadium.
