NEWTOWN, PA (February 6, 2025) -- Coming off an all-conference cross country season, senior
Owen Foytack was named to the 2024 Academic All-Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Men's Cross Country Team as announced by the conference office on Thursday morning. The 2024 season marks the first time a Monarch men's cross country runner appeared on the team since Ben Siegel in 2017 and just the fourth all time.
A total of 10 men's cross country student-athletes were recognized for academic and athletic excellence. The MAC sports information directors nominate and vote for the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight on both academic success and athletic success. A student-athlete must have a fall semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award.
Foytack had another great campaign this past fall, as he earned All-MAC First Team honors with his ninth-place finish at the 2024 MAC Cross Country Championships. He competed in all six meets this season, and he capped off the season with a time of 25:43.8 at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Meet which marks the best time for a Monarch since the 2002 regional meet. A physician assistant major, Foytack recorded a 3.50 GPA in the fall semester.
