MADISON, NJ (March 16, 2025) - The King's College baseball team fell 11-4 to the Devils of FDU-Florham at Vincent J. and Lenda F. Naimoli Ballpark on Sunday afternoon. With the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom loss, the Monarchs move to 3-9 overall as the Devils move to 7-8.
The Devils jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the third inning. The Monarchs answered back in the top of the fourth as
Owen Kosar was walked to push
Michael Marmolejos to second,
Jacob Sutton to third and
Kevin Kullman home.
Zach Jenkins hit a sacrifice fly to center field to put Marmolejos on third and Sutton at home to tie it 2-2.
The Devils went on to respond back with two runs in the bottom of the fourth, one in the fifth and six in the seventh. In the top of the ninth,
Jaiden Wanamaker was walked to advance
Zach Day to second,
Troy Neff to third and
Blaze Graham home. Kullman hit a single to left field to put Wanamaker on second and Day on third and score Neff. The comeback bid was not enough to hold off the Devils as they secured the 11-4 win.
Matt Masala (0-2) was handed the pitching loss with Alex DeSimone (1-0) picking up his first win of the season on the mound.
The Monarchs are back home on Monday, March 17 to host Penn State Wilkes Barre at Lipo Field at 4 p.m.
