Schultz and Lindsay Pace the Monarchs in 15-9 Victory over the Dolphins

RIVERDALE, NY ( March 19, 2025) -- The King's College women's lacrosse team celebrated a 15-9 victory over Mount Saint Vincent on Wednesday evening.
 
The Monarchs controlled the first five minutes of play with a 5-1 run that included goals by Alli Linday, Emilee Schultz, Maria Schneider, and Sarah Schultz. The King's defense created several Dolphin turnovers to gain opportunities in enemy territory. After a successful clear and receiving a free position attempt, Lindsay collected a hat trick at 6:53 left of the first quarter to gain a hat trick. The remainder of the quarter went back-and-forth with each team trading a tally. Heading into the second the Monarchs were up 7-2.
 
Mount Saint Vincent had several shot attempts to begin the second quarter. Alyssa Reeber collected a timely save during a free position shot to help Emilee Schultz go on to find Sarah Schultz at 9:20 and gain another tally to the scoreboard. The Dolphins responded back with two straight goals. For the next five-minutes King's remained on offense and found Sarah Schultz collecting a hat trick with 0:24 left. Heading into intermission, the Monarchs were up 9-4.
 
Mount Saint Vincent came back with vengeance with back-to-back tallies to open the second half. At 11:48, Sydney Stratton found the back of the net. The next four minutes were scoreless as both teams traded possessions. The Dolphins scored the final two goals of the quarter with 5:01 left of play. Sarah Schultz netted a goal in the first 24 seconds of the fourth quarter. The Monarchs had the Schultz connection with back-to-back goals and 11:55 left of play. Chloe Burke found the back of the net at 9:28. Mount Saint Vincent collected one more goal at 3:52 before Stratton iced the game with a player-up tally at 0:13. King's won 15-9 at Athletic Field.
 
The Monarchs finished with 38 shots, 19-20 clears, 16 ground balls, 17 draw controls, and 11 draw controls. Lindsay paced the offense with seven points on four goals and three assists with six draw controls and two ground balls. Sarah Schultz was right behind with six points on five goals and an assist with five ground balls. Emilee Schultz and Stratton also had two goals each. Emma Besa had three caused turnovers, while Chloe Burke and Emma Clark collected two. In goal, Reeber produced nine saves.
 
The Dolphins ended with 20 shots, 19-32 clears, 14 ground balls, 10 draw controls, and seven caused turnovers. Ella Meberg had four goals on five shots. Macey Forg was right behind with two goals and three draw controls. On the defense, Makenna Reekie picked up eight ground balls, three caused turnovers, and 18 saves.
 
King's are back on the road to take on Bryn Athyn at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 22.
