BRYN ATHYN, PA (March 22, 2025) -- The King's College women's lacrosse team was defeated by Bryn Athyn on Saturday afternoon in General Ronald K. Nelson Field, 14-8. The Monarchs drop to 2-4 overall and the Lions improve to 5-1.
Chloe Burke earned a career milestone of 100 ground balls in the matchup.

King's battled through the first quarter, but Bryn Athyn called the shots as they picked up three goals in the first 15 minutes of play. The Lions continued to hold an edge by finding the back the twice with 7:20 remaining of the second quarter. The Monarchs pestered their hosts and collected four straight goals that included
Alli Lindsay,
Sarah Schultz, and
Emma Besa. Heading into halftime, King's were down 5-4.

Bryn Athyn had the first goal of the second half at 14:42. The Monarch defense stayed strong and after a successful clear, Lindsay saw the back of the net once more thanks to an assist by
Sydney Stratton at 12:17. For the remainder of the third quarter, the two opponents traded shots. The Lions went on to score two more goals to maintain their lead, 8-5, heading into the fourth and final quarter.

Bryn Athyn continued their momentum with three straight goals. At 8:59,
Maria Schneider found Stratton to gain a tally on the scoreboard. Lindsay broke up a 2-0 run by the Lions as she produced another goal at 5:03. Bryn Athyn had another 2-0 push as time was dwindling down. Lindsay earned her fourth goal of the afternoon thanks to an assist fromÂ
Chloe Burke at 0:07. At the final buzzer, King's fell 14-8.

The Monarchs finished with 21 shots, 6-6 clears, 17 ground balls, and 11 caused turnovers. Lindsay paced the offense with seven points on four goals and three assists while gaining four ground balls.
Sarah Schultz was right behind with two goals and an assist. Burke recorded three caused turnovers, three ground balls, and an assist. Schneider and
Emma Clarke picked up two caused turnovers each.
Alyssa Reeber had 16 saves in goal to end the afternoon.

Bryn Athyn finished with 38 shots, 8-10 clears, 30 ground balls, and 18 caused turnovers. Shea Gormley fueled the offense with six goals, three assists, 16 draw controls, and eight ground balls. Kira Bradley had five goals, two assists, seven ground balls, and three caused turnovers. Paige Lipp pushed the defense with four caused turnovers. In goal, Chloe Munyon produced 11 saves.

King's will be back on the road on Wednesday, March 26
th at 7 p.m. to take on cross town rival Wilkes. The squad will return to McCarthy Stadium for senior day on Saturday, March 29
th against Centenary.
