WILKES-BARRE, PA (March 21, 2025) – The King's College baseball team fell 11-3 to the Ducks of Stevens Institute of Technology on Friday afternoon at Lipo Field. With the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom loss, the Monarchs move to 5-10, 1-3 in conference play as the Ducks improve to 7-9, 4-0.
The Ducks jumped out to an early 11-0 lead through four innings after scoring seven runs in the third and four in the fourth. The Monarchs began to find their groove in the sixth inning as
Troy Neff hit a sacrifice fly ball to center field to bring
Owen Kosar home and score their first run of the game.
In the eighth inning,
Zach Day hit a single to left field to push Neff to second,
Justin Richards to third and
Ryan Northorn home.
Jaiden Wanamaker was walked to advance all base runners and score Richards to make it 11-3 before the inning was retired.
Day had three hits and one RBI alongside Northorn's one run and one hit. Senior pitcher
Josh Kilvitis (1-1) was handed the loss after two innings, 16 batters faced and 31 pitches thrown, crediting Stevens' Erik Sibbach (1-3) the pitching win.
Aydan Davis had a solid day on the mound as Kilvitis' relief, going five innings with eight strikeouts and 85 pitches.
The Monarchs will travel to Hoboken, NJ tomorrow for a double header with the Ducks at 3:30 and 6 p.m. at Dobbelear Baseball Field at the DeBaun Athletic Complex.
