Monarchs Drop MAC Freedom Series to Stevens

HOBOKEN, NJ (March 22, 2025) – The King's College baseball team lost both games of Saturday's double header to the Ducks of Stevens Institute of Technology at Dobblear Baseball Field at the DeBaun Athletic Complex. With the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom losses, the Monarchs move to 5-12 overall, 1-5 in conference play as the Ducks improve to 9-9, 6-0.

Game 1 – L, 5-1

In the first inning of game one, Jaiden Wanamaker reached first base on a fielder's choice to score Troy Neff and record the Monarchs' only run of the game. The Ducks scored four runs in the fifth and one more in the sixth to secure the 5-1 win.

Neff tallied two hits and one run as Dusty Shaver (1-2) got the pitching loss after throwing 84 pitches and recording three strikeouts in four innings.

Game 2 – L, 8-1

The Ducks got the game going with two runs in the second inning. In the sixth, Jacob Sutton hit a single to third base, Justin Richards got to third on a throwing error by the third basemen and Zach Day scored. The Ducks went on to score six unanswered runs to seal the 8-1 win and snag the series sweep.

Zach Day had two hits and one run and took the pitching loss (0-3) after three innings on the mound, one strikeout and 58 pitches thrown.

The Monarchs are back in action on Tuesday, March 25 as they travel to Williamsport, PA for a 5 p.m. matchup with the Cougars of Penn College at Bowman Field.
