Milestones, Records, and Season-Highs in Victory over Wilkes

EDWARDSVILLE, PA (March 26, 2025) -- The King's College women's lacrosse team went into enemy territory and came out with a 24-3 victory over the Wilkes Colonels on Wednesday evening in Schmidt Stadium. Alli Lindsay celebrated a career milestone of 100 career points in the win.
 
The Monarchs (3-4) wasted no time with a goal by Emilee Schultz in the first 0:44 of the half. King's stayed in the offensive end and recorded two straight tallies by Lindsay with 9:20 left of the first quarter. From then on, the Monarch defense prevailed, and the offense gained several shot opportunities. Wilkes (0-7) later capitalized on a turnover and went on to score the last goal of the quarter at 1:15. The Monarchs stampeded through the second quarter with Lindsay, Sarah Schultz, and Maria Schneider all finding the back of the net to make it  8-1. King's was dealt a green card and the Colonels was able to net a man-up goal at 5:29. From then on, the Monarchs maintained the same energy and end the second quarter with four unanswered tallies that included Emilee Schultz, Lindsay, and Sarah Schultz. Heading into halftime, King's had a 12-2 lead.
 
The start of the second half was much like the first as the Monarchs collected seven straight goals. At 13:59 of the fourth quarter, Sydney Stratton found the back of the net to earn her first goal of the game. Emma Clark found Lindsay at 12:11 to add point to the scoreboard and Emma Besa netted her first goal of the season at 9:05. In the final 5:30, King's went on a 2-1 run that included Clark's first career goal.  At the final buzzer, the Monarchs defeated Wilkes 24-3.
 
King's finished with 44 shots, 13-20 clears, 21 ground balls, 21 draw controls, and 11 caused turnovers. Lindsay produced 12 points on 10 goals and two assists to break game records for goals scored and points: while also collecting six draw controls, four caused turnovers, and four ground balls. Burke had a team-high of seven draw controls with three ground balls, three goals, and an assist. Schneider was right behind with six draw controls, three caused turnovers, three ground balls, three goals, and an assist. Sarah Schultz and Emilee Schultz had four points each on three goals and an assist. Alyssa Reeber collected six saves and Ani Quindipan had two in goal.
 
The Colonels' Brooklyn Pedana had a team-high of three points on two goals and an assist. Emily Jackson recorded a goal on two shots. Mara Adams and Ainsley Wescott had two ground balls and a draw control. Brooklynn Donia produced eight saves and Rissa Brazeau had four between the posts.
 
The Monarchs are back home in McCarthy Stadium at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 29th to battle Centenary (NJ). The squad will celebrate their eight seniors before the matchup.
