WILLIAMSPORT, PA (March 8, 2025) – The King's College baseball team lost to the Warriors of Lycoming in both games of Saturday's double header at Brandon Park Baseball Field. With the losses, the Monarchs move to 1-4 as the Warriors improve to 3-5 overall.
Game 1 – L, 15-3
King's started strong in the first inning as
Zach Jenkins was walked with the bases loaded to advance
Kevin Kullman to second,
Zach Day to third and scoring
Jaiden Wanamaker. Lycoming answered back and took a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the inning.
In the second,
Troy Neff stole second base to score
Owen Ness, but the Warriors scored four runs in the second and fourth innings to make it 9-2.
Jason Cunha grounded out to third base to score
Justin Richards in the sixth inning, making the score 9-3. Lycoming ran away with it, scoring six more runs to secure the 15-3 win. Day (0-3) was handed the pitching loss as Alex Halbert (1-1) tabbed the win.
Game 2 – L, 7-3
Kullman got the Monarchs going, advancing to second on a single and scoring Wanamaker. The Warriors scored three in the bottom of the first to take a 3-1 lead. After a scoreless next three innings, Lycoming added two runs in the fifth to make it 5-1.
In the sixth inning,
Justin Richards doubled to left field to notch two RBI's and bring Kullman and Day home to cut the lead to 5-3. The Warriors brought two more runs in to notch the 7-3 win. Kullman led the Monarchs with two hits and
Justin Richards with two RBI's.
Dusty Shaver (0-1) took the pitching loss, giving Zac Zaller (1-0) the win.
The Monarchs are back in action tomorrow, March 9 for another double header with Lycoming. Games are set for 12 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the Brandon Park Baseball Field.
