DALLAS, PA (April 1, 2025) -- The King's College men's lacrosse team in their Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) opener on Tuesday night, dropping the 19-1 decision at Misericordia University. With the setback, the Monarchs drop to 1-8 overall and 0-1 in the standings, while the Cougars move to 5-5 with a 1-0 conference mark.

The first half was all Misericordia (5-5, 1-0 MAC Freedom) as the Cougars tallied six first-quarter goals and another eight in the second to take a commanding 14-0 lead heading into the break.

The King's (1-8, 0-1 MAC Freedom) defense settled in behind the efforts of
Ryan Rickards in goal as the junior made five saves and allowed just one goal, but the offense could not capitalize on nine shots in the period to face a 15-0 deficit heading into the fourth.

After the Cougars offense settled back in to score two goals in the first 5:58 of the fourth, the Monarchs found the back of the net as
Ryan Lynch caused a turnover that was picked up by
Josh Hilpp, fed to
John Wall just outside the crease, and launched into the goal to get the Monarchs on the board with 8:40 remaining. Misericordia two final goals down the stretch before posting the 19-1 final.

Wall recorded a point on his goal off two shots, while Hilpp also picked up a point on the assist while collecting two ground balls.
Ben Spencer led the offense with six shots, while
Ryan Lynch caused three turnovers with a pair of ground balls.
Ryan Dolphin collected a team-high four ground balls, and
Chris O'Mara added three.
Matt Dellapi won seven face offs, and Rickards finished with 15 saves through the first three quarters of action.

Connor Bevan led the Cougars with six points on five goals and an assist with nine shots, while Rusty Carr picked up seven ground balls. Cooper Luckenbaugh won nine face offs, and Chris Dindino earned the win through the first 30 minutes with three saves.

The King's defense caused 16 Cougar turnovers, while the team picked up 19 ground balls in the setback.

The Monarchs return to McCarthy Stadium on Saturday afternoon as they host Lebanon Valley College in their MAC Freedom home opener at 1:00 p.m.
