Lindsay and Schultz Efforts Come up Short in Loss to DeSales

WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 12, 2025) -- The King's College women's lacrosse team battled against DeSales University on a rainy Saturday afternoon. The Monarchs fell 23-5 to the Bulldogs in their Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom contest.
 
DeSales (13-1, 3-1 MAC Freedom) had a first quarter shutout with 10 straight goals in McCarthy Stadium. The Bulldogs continued their offensive spark in the second quarter as they tacked on three more tallies to the scoreboard. King's (4-8, 0-4 MAC Freedom) pushed looking for momentum and after a caused turnover by Chloe Burke, she found Alli Lindsay for a Monarch goal at 8:14. The squad continued to pester their visitors and capitalized on a player-up opportunity with another tally by Lindsay. DeSales would later collect back-to-back goals to close the first half with a 15-2 lead.  
 
Following halftime, King's was in enemy territory after a draw control win as they accumulated several shot opportunities. Though the Bulldogs got the ball back and pushed in transition to find the back of the net at 12:29. Emma Besa created a caused turnover to gain offensive possession and after a successful clear, Sarah Schultz netted a goal at 10:06. Though DeSales regained their momentum and produced a 2-0 run to push their lead to 18-3. The first four minutes of the final quarter was scoreless. Mariah Schneider took advantage of a player-up opportunity and found the back of the net at 10:53 thanks to an assist from Sarah Schultz. The Bulldogs stayed in control with a 5-1 run as Sarah Schultz tacked on the last goal for the Monarchs. King's lost 23-5 at the final buzzer.
 
Lindsay fueled the offense with career-high 12 draw controls, two ground balls, two goals, and an assist. Sarah Schultz collected five ground balls, two goals, and an assist. Schneider also had a goal with two ground balls. Burke picked up four ground balls, an assist, and a caused turnover. In goal, Alyssa Reeber had six saves and Ani Quindipan produced two.
 
DeSales' Hailey Linebaugh sparked the offense with nine points on five goals and four assists. Jess Brey and Bridey Lawler was right behind with four goals each. Diguglielmo dished out five assists with two goals. Danielle Sieja had three draw controls, four caused turnovers, four ground balls, two goals, and two assists. Michaela Regan had two saves for the afternoon and Nicole Minelli had four between the posts.
 
The Monarchs will be back in action at FDU-Florham on Wednesday, April 16th at 6 p.m.
