MADISON, NJ (April 16, 2025) -- The King's College women's lacrosse was neck-and-neck with the Devils of FDU-Florham through three quarters on Wednesday evening. With a shutout by the Devils in the fourth quarter, the Monarchs succumbed to a 21-14 loss.
Chloe Burke secured her 100
th career point during the matchup.

FDU-Florham (3-8, 1-3 MAC Freedom) was in control to start the game with three straight goals in the first five minutes. King's (4-9, 0-5) collected a successful clear that turned into a goal by
Sydney Stratton at 8:40 thanks to an assist by
Emilee Schultz. The Monarchs went on to take advantage of a player-up opportunity and
Chloe Burke assisted
Alli Lindsay for a tally at 7:15. From then on, both Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom opponents battled. At 1:27,
Chloe Burke found the back of the net to tie the matchup, 3-3. The Devils were able to make a quick save during a free position shot to end the first quarter.

Lindsay maintained the momentum for the squad as she netted back-to-back goals with 11:09 left to play in the first half. Though, FDU-Florham responded back with their own 3-0 run to regain the lead. King's was not going down silently and
Maria Schneider found
Sarah Schultz at 8:40 to even the match once more. The Devils stayed composed and created a 4-1 burst to end the quarter. Entering halftime, The Monarchs were down 10-7.

King's came back with vengeance after intermission and produced a 3-1 jolt that included goals by
Emily Kane,
Sarah Schultz, and Lindsay to get within one of their hosts. FDU-Florham scored two straight before the Monarchs created another 4-0 run that comprised Schneider and
Sarah Schultz as they each earned a hat trick. The Devils had every answer and gained two more tallies to end the third quarter ahead, 16-14. The fourth quarter was unlike the rest as FDU-Florham maintained their energy and collected five unanswered goals. At the final buzzer, King's fell 21-14 in Robert T. Shields Field.

The Monarchs finished with 36 shots, 14-16 clears, 21 ground balls, and 17 draw controls. Lindsay paced the squad with five goals and eight draw controls. Schneider secured three goals, two assists, and four ground balls.
Sarah Schultz also had three goals for the night. Burke dished out two assists, while adding a goal, two caused turnovers, and three draw controls.
Alyssa Reeber produced 15 saves with six ground balls in goal.

The Devils ended with 43 shots, 17-17 in clears, 18 ground balls, and 22 draw controls. Claudia Zappia fueled the team with nine points on five goals and four assists. Alexis Ashton had six goals with four draw controls. Julianna Medina was right behind with five goals and six draw controls. In goal, Alison Kozil collected 16 saves and two ground balls.

The squad is back in McCarthy Stadium on Wednesday, April 23rd at 5 p.m. to take on Arcadia for a MAC Freedom battle.
