WILKES-BARRE, PA (July 21, 2025) -- On Monday, July 21, Assistant Athletic Director of Athletic Communications Bridget Walsh announced James Schuld as the department's next full-time Assistant Director.
"I'm really looking forward to joining the staff at King's College and becoming part of a community that values its student-athletes and traditions," said Schuld. "I'm excited to help highlight all the great things happening here and tell the stories that put Monarch Athletics in a class of its own!"
Schuld joins King's after three years at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), most recently as Game Day Communications Staff where he provided play-by-play and color commentary for home football, basketball, and baseball games, wrote recaps, recorded live statistics, and served as a public address announcer for all home baseball games. Prior to his latest stint, Schuld was the graduate assistant at TCNJ for two years, serving as the primary media contact for several sports, managing game day coverage, statistics, and graphics. He also designed game day programs and was well-versed in Adobe Creative Suite applications and Gipper.
Prior to his time in Ewing, N.J., Schuld gained a plethora of hands-on experience at Ursinus as a writer for Student Union Sports and
The Grizzly, sports commentator for the Bears home basketball and football games, and Co-Founder and Co-Anchor of Sports on Main.
"We had a really great pool of applicants for this full-time position," stated Walsh. "With every step of the process, James' materials, work experience, and passion for Division III athletics shined through. We're excited to have him on board this year to help elevate our coverage of Monarch Athletics and to highlight our student-athletes in all that they do."
Schuld is a 2022 graduate of Ursinus with a Bachelor's degree in media and communications and was a member of both the football and baseball teams for the Bears. He then went on to obtain his Master's degree in English from TCNJ in 2024.
He will begin his duties today, July 21 ahead of the 2025-26 academic year and will serve as the primary contact for both men's and women's soccer this fall.
