WILKES-BARRE, PA (August 15, 2025) -- As the remainder of our fall student-athletes return to campus today, the King's College athletic department announces its latest addition as Head Coach Mike Kolinovsky adds Chris Hine as an assistant coach for the cross country and track and field programs.

"I have always had the upmost respect for King's College cross country and track & field," said Hine. "Through my time as a recruit and a college athlete, I have always had a close connection with the team. Coach Mike was incredible and super helpful with bringing me on board, and there's already an at-home feeling on staff with two of my former high school coaches. I am looking forward to working with the coaching staff on getting the best out of each athlete."

Hine comes to King's after a successful career at NCAA Division II Lock Haven, finishing ninth in 2022 at the PSAC Cross Country Championships to earn First Team recognition. Prior to his time as a Bald Eagle, the Plains, PA native was a standout at nearby Holy Redeemer High School where he finished his career as the school record holder in both the 5,000 meters and 3,200 meters. He was also a member of the teams that won the PIAA District 2 Championships and placed fifth at states in 2018 and individually won back-to-back championship titles in 2019 and 2020 with top-ranking PIAA State Medalist finishes. In the 3,200 meters, he was the PIAA District 2 champion and state runner-up in 2021.

"Chris will be a great addition to our coaching staff," added Kolinovsky. "He had a strong high school and collegiate career. I am looking forward to see him working closely with our student-athletes."

He is a 2025 graduate of Lock Haven with a degree in health and physical education and is pursuing his master's in curriculum and instruction at King's. Hine is also in his first year as a Health and Physical Education Teacher at Hazleton Area High School.
