WILKES-BARRE, PA (August 5, 2025) -- With the team set to report on Monday, the King's College football program and Head Coach Mike Cebrosky announced its newest additions to the staff as Tristan Howell joins in 2025 as Special Teams Coordinator and linebackers coach.

"Becoming part of the staff has been great," said Howell. "Seeing how the guys work hard for the success of the team and also find time to just chat and laugh together has made my transition a fun learning experience! I'm blessed to have this opportunity to work with such a great group of leaders and men!"

Howell comes to King's after a stint as a member of the coaching staff at his alma mater, Muskingum University in New Concord, OH. He spent the spring of 2022 as a volunteer defensive assistant, setting up drills, implementing installs, contributing to linebacker position meetings, and managing equipment needs. He then remained on staff in spring of 2023 as the defensive backs coach then as the linebackers coach during the 2023 and 2024 seasons. In this stretch, Howell coached three All-Conference linebackers and a D3football.com All-Region honoree.

Off the field, Howell served as an intern to the Athletic Director at Muskingum during the summer of 2021, assisting with staff meetings, running a 7-on-7 camp for local high schools, and facility maintenance. He was also a staff sergeant of the United States Air Force Reserve from 2017 to 2025 responsible for guiding upcoming Airmen in their career, providing police protection on active installation, and responding to the call of duty in time of crisis and was awarded with the Air Force Service Medal in 2022, PT Airman of the Year in 2020, and the Humanitarian Award in 2019.

 "I am beyond excited to bring Coach Howell on board," added Cebrosky. "His military service, background, experience, and mindset will help our team grow with military fundamentals. His attention to detail and family-like approach will be a great addition to our staff."

Howell is a 2022 graduate of Muskingum with a Bachelor's degree in sports administration and a 2024 graduate of the University with a Master's degree in adult education. He has been with the team since the end of their spring sessions and looks forward to his new role as Special Teams Coordinator and linebackers coach in 2025.
