WILKES-BARRE, PA (August 7, 2025) -- Another familiar face will return to the sidelines this fall as Head Coach Mike Cebrosky announces EJ Schreiner is set to join the King's College football staff ahead of the 2025 season as a student assistant coach.

"I'm very excited to be able to come back and coach," said Schreiner. "Furthermore, I'm blessed to be given the opportunity to coach at a great school like King's that possess a great culture and player led team."

A four-year member of the Monarchs, Schreiner played in 28 career games as a wide receiver and totaled 57 catches for 675 yards and six touchdowns. He also returned 11 kickoffs for 146 yards and eight punts for 109 yards in his final three seasons. The Blue Bell, Pa. native was on track for the best season in his career in 2024 after being promoted to Single Digit Tough, totaling 20 catches for 249 yards and five touchdowns over the first six games, including three touchdown grabs in the win over Misericordia, before being sidelined due to injury along the way to the team's 2024 MAC Championship title run.

Schreiner was a well-rounded student-athlete as a two-time MAC Academic Honor Roll recipient and a National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society inductee in 2025. He also competed for the men's lacrosse team his sophomore year, totaling 24 points on 18 goals and six assists with 24 ground balls, and nine caused turnovers in 14 games before serving as a student assistant the following season.

"Coach Schreiner is truly a 'hands-on' educator," stated Cebrosky. "His willingness to show players day in and day out how things are supposed to be done will prove to be beneficial for our team."

He obtained his Bachelor's degree in history secondary education from King's and will assist in all aspects and day-to-day operations of the football program this fall.
