DALLAS, PA (September 13, 2025) – The King's College men's cross country team competed in their first 8,000 meter race of the season in the annual Cougar Classic Cross Country Meet at Misericordia University. The Monarchs placed second out of nine teams on Saturday, with five runners finish in the top 20 of the 50-runner field.
Sophomore
Preston Klem led the team, finishing sixth overall with a personal-best time of 28:34. His classmate and teammate,
Ben Wnuk, also recorded a personal best, crossing the finish line in 12
th place with a time of 30:08.
King's had a tremendous day with first year runners as they propelled the Monarchs to their second-place finish.
First year runners
Cohen Claar and
Ryan Baxter debuted in their first ever 8k race with a top 15 finish. Claar ran a time of 30:14 placing 13
th, while Baxter ran a time of 30:33 placing 14
th overall.
Freshman
Casimir Glaude finished 18
th overall with a time of 31:36 in his first 8k race as Glaude was additionally the last scoring Monarch for the team. First year teammate runner
Sebastian Williams finished 22
nd overall with a time of 32:09.
Junior
John Gillespie debuted in his first 8k race with a time of 33:07 crossing the line 29
th overall.
King's men's cross country's next race is on Saturday, September 27, at Dickinson College for the Long/Short invite beginning at 12:00 PM.
