Williams Moves Into Top 3 All-Time as King’s Sweeps Tri-Match Against CCNY and Saint Elizabeth

MORRISTOWN, N.J (September 13, 2025) – King's College women's volleyball added two wins on the road today, defeating The City College of New York in straight sets and then overcoming Saint Elizabeth University in four to improve to 8–1 overall. It was another milestone day for Senior Captain Morgan Williams, as her 40 digs moved her into third place all time in the King's record book.

King's 3, CCNY 0 (25–14, 25–5, 25–17)
King's opened the day strong, setting the tone with great service and limiting CCNY's ability to respond. In the first set, Morgan Williams stepped to the line and drilled an ace early to begin a stretch where King's built control. Madisyn Heiser‐Elsea and Mia Campanile delivered timely kills off Ariela Towsey's distribution to pull away 25-14.

Set two was mostly one-way traffic, as King's aggressive serving and clean offense created separation immediately. CCNY struggled to keep up, and King's closed the frame 25–5 putting on one of its most dominant sets of the season.

In the third, CCNY was able to hang with King's through the first part of the set, but the Monarchs closed strong behind blocks from Emma Bolich and Bella Salvia to take the match 25-17.

King's recorded 13 aces and held CCNY to near‐zero hitting in the second set. Williams had 16 digs to anchor the defense; Heiser-Elsea led with eight kills; Salvia added five kills and three aces, Towsey tallied 17 assists, Bolich contributed both offensively and at the net with three blocks.

King's 3, Saint Elizabeth University 1 (19–25, 25–21, 25–10, 25–16)
King's dropped the first set to SEU, a mix of rattled service errors and unsettled attack timing. The Eagles took advantage with a few great stretches to take set one 25–19.

The Monarchs responded in set two, relying on Towsey's setting and Salvia's attacks. Williams kept rallies alive defensively while Lynch and Salvia found continuation kills. King's edged out SEU 25–21 to even things.

The third set was a dominant showing from King's as they kept the momentum going. The offense clicked, hitting well, and the Eagles couldn't keep up with the energy. King's rolled 25-10.

In set four, the Monarchs kept the pressure on. Blocks from Heiser-Elsea, Lynch, and Campanile disrupted SEU's attacks, and Williams piled up digs. King's closed the match 25-16 to clinch the win.

King's was led in kills by Bella Salvia (14), Theresa Lynch added 8, Emma Bolich had 4. Towsey ran a clean offense with 30 assists. Riley McArdle chipped in a strong back-row effort with 17 digs. Williams finished with 24 digs in the match, a milestone performance that officially moved her into third place all-time in career digs in program history. King's hit about .211 overall in the match and matched SEU in aces (8 each), with King's pulling ahead in blocks and digs.

With today's performances, King's improves to 8–1 on the season, while Williams continues to climb the program record book as one of the top defenders in Monarchs history. The Monarchs are back in action on Wednesday, September 17 against Muhlenberg at 6:00 PM.
