WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 20, 2025) – The King's College women's volleyball team defended its home court with authority on Saturday, sweeping both Keystone and Immaculata in a tri-match at McGrane Gymnasium. The Monarchs improved to 9–2 on the year with the pair of straight-set victories.
Match 1: King's 3, Keystone 0 (25–15, 25–6, 25–16)
The Monarchs opened the day with a dominant performance over Keystone, limiting the Giants to a .032 hitting percentage while hitting .351 as a team. After taking the first set 25–15, King's turned in its most dominant set of the season, rolling to a 25–6 win behind an efficient offense and tough serving. They closed out the sweep with a steady 25–16 win in the third set.
King's saw balance throughout its lineup, as Emma Bolich led the attack with 12 kills while hitting .375, and Theresa Lynch added 5 kills at a .417 clip. Lindsay Arezina, Madisyn Heiser-Elsea, and Mia Campanile each chipped in four or more kills to keep the offense spread out. Ariela Towsey dished out 34 assists and guided the team to a .351 hitting percentage. Defensively, Morgan Williams had 12 digs while adding four assists, and Riley McArdle chipped in eight digs. Bolich also anchored the net with four blocks.
Match 2: King's 3, Immaculata 0 (25–22, 25–21, 25–14)
The Monarchs carried their momentum into the second match, fighting through a competitive start before taking control. In the opening set, Bolich and Lynch provided timely kills while Williams kept rallies alive as King's edged Immaculata 25–22. The second frame was just as tight, before Salvia sparked the offense late to help close a 25–21 win. King's then dominated the third, hitting .205 as a team and limiting Immaculata to just 14 points to seal the sweep.
Bolich, Salvia, Lynch, and Hannah Swinsburg each had 11 kills apiece, while Heiser-Elsea contributed 7. Towsey had a double double with 34 assists and added 10 digs, while Williams turned in another standout defensive effort with 13 digs. Riley McArdle also contributed a team-high 17 digs to help anchor the back row.
The Monarchs (9–2) will return to action on Wednesday, September 24, traveling to face Delaware Valley University in their MAC Freedom opener.
