Field Hockey Drops Road Contest at Susquehanna

SELINSGROVE, PA (September 24, 2025) – The King's College field hockey team fell in non-conference action on Wednesday evening, suffering a 10-0 setback against Susquehanna University at Sassafras Field. The Monarchs now sit at 1-7 on the season while the River Hawks improve to 3-5 overall.

Susquehanna built early momentum with four goals in the first quarter and added five more in the second to carry a 9-0 lead into halftime. Susquehanna scored its final goal in the 42nd minute, while King's held the hosts scoreless over the final 18 minutes. The Monarch defense fought back in the second half, allowing just one goal and four shots compared to 17 shots from Susquehanna in the opening half.

Goalkeeper Elizabeth Samuel recorded six saves in the full 60 minutes for the Monarchs. Allie Chocallo notched the team's lone shot of the evening in the third quarter following a penalty corner opportunity from Melanie Tlatenchi.

Susquehanna was led by Isa Napoli and Taylor Rothermel with two goals apiece, while Kiara Koeller added three assists.

King's field hockey returns to action on Saturday, September 27 as the Monarchs head to Scranton, PA to take on Marywood University at 5:00 PM.
