Parker's Late Goal Pushes Women's Soccer Past Immaculata

WILKES-BARRE,PA (September 24, 2025) – A goal in the 78th minute from Maya Parker proved to be the game-winner for the King's College women's soccer team on Wednesday as they defeated Immaculata by a score of 3-2. The win marks the second in a row for the Monarchs, improving to 3-5-1 while the Mighty Macs now sit at 1-4-1 on the season.

King's found the back of the net first in the 21st to open the scoring and take a 1-0 lead. An Immaculata goal kick was won by Parker as she sent a pass to Jenna Waldbillig. Waldbillig sent a low running cross from left to right for Parker to deposit into the left side of the net.

Immaculata responded back in a big way, scoring in both the 24th and 33rd minutes to claim a 2-1 lead headed into halftime. Each team took ten shots in the opening half with six on goal or the Monarchs and four for the Mighty Macs.

As the second half went on, King's began to dominate possession and send numerous shots at the Immaculata keeper. In the 52nd, the Monarchs found the equalizer on another connection between Waldbillig and Pacia. Waldbillig was stopped by Immaculata's backline on an attempted through ball but she turned back and found Pacia to send a perfect strike just under the crossbar and tie the game at two.

King's took their first lead of the game in the 78th as Waldbillig found a crease in the Mighty Mac defense and sent another low cross from the left side. This time, it was Parker who knocked in the eventual game-winner for the Monarchs, giving Waldbillig her third assist of the night.

Pacia led King's offensively on Wednesday night with four points on two goals with three shots and two on goal. Waldbillig put up a stellar performance as well, racking up a career-high three assists in the win. The goal for Parker marks her third of the season.

King's keeper Courtney Monard finished the night with seven saves, only facing one shot on goal in the second half as the Monarch defense shut Immaculata's offense down throughout the final 45 minutes of play.

King's women's soccer will play for their third win in a row on Saturday, September 27 as they head to Owings Mills, MD for a matchup with Stevenson set for 1:00 PM.
