IMMACULATA, PA (September 6, 2025) – The King's College field hockey team dropped a non-conference road matchup on Saturday, falling to Immaculata University by a score of 5-0. The Monarchs fall to 1-2 in 2025 while the Mighty Macs improve to 2-2.
Immaculata struck first at the 4:30 mark, taking an early 1-0 lead. The play followed a penalty corner and a save by goalkeeper
Emily Bollinger, but Immaculata stayed aggressive and found the back of the cage. Just two minutes later, the Macs netted their second goal of the game moving their lead to 2-0.
The Monarchs created several promising scoring opportunities in the second quarter, highlighted by multiple shots from
Davina Krappa. Despite her efforts—including a shot off a penalty corner played in by
Melanie Tlatenchi and a penalty stroke attempt—King's was unable to convert, with both attempts saved by Immaculata goalie Ella Miller.
The Mighty Macs opened up the second half with a quick score by Maria Freeman, extending their lead to three on the Monarchs. Bollinger picked up another three saves throughout the third before Immaculata tacked on another goal just before the closing of the third quarter.
King's came out strong early in the fourth, with Tlatenchi earning multiple penalty corners and
Shaylee Heffron testing the Immaculata goalie with several shot attempts. Despite their efforts, the Mighty Mac defense held firm.
Late in the quarter, Immaculata's Samari Rodriguez scored, bringing the lead to 5–0. King's kept fighting until the final whistle, showing resilience throughout the entire game.
King's field hockey returns to the field on Wednesday, September 10 in a road matchup against the Colonels of Wilkes at 7:00 PM.
