WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 6, 2025) – It was a milestone day for King's College women's volleyball libero Morgan Williams, who moved into fourth place all-time in program history for career digs as the Monarchs swept their home tri-match on Saturday. King's earned a five-set victory over Ramapo before sweeping St. Joseph's Brooklyn to improve to 4–1 on the season.
King's 3, Ramapo 2 (26–24, 20–25, 25–16, 20–25, 15–13)
The opener was a battle from start to finish as the Monarchs edged Ramapo in a five-set thriller. King's captured the first set 26–24, with Theresa Lynch closing it out with a kill off of a set from Ariela Towsey. The Roadrunners answered back in the second, but King's dominated the third set, hitting .286 as a team. Bella Salvia caught fire with six kills in as the Monarchs pulled away 25–16.
Ramapo evened the match with a 25–20 win in the fourth, forcing a deciding fifth set. The Monarchs held on in a tihgtly contested fifth set. After Emma Bolich tied the set at 13–13 with a kill, Salvia came through with her 21st kill of the match before a Ramapo error sealed the 15–13 win for King's.
Salvia led the attack with 21 kills, while Lynch and Hannah Swinsburg added 12 each. Bolich finished with 11 kills and three blocks. Towsey was the offensive maestro with 45 assists and also chipped in 10 digs. Williams anchored the back row with 30 digs which moves her into fourth all-time in King's volleyball history.
King's 3, St. Joseph's Brooklyn 0 (25–18, 25–21, 25–12)
King's carried its momentum into the evening match, sweeping St. Joseph's Brooklyn with another efficient performance. The Monarchs built an early cushion in the first set behind strong swings from Bolich and Lindsay Arezina, finishing with a 25–18 win.
The second set tightened late as St. Joseph's pulled within one at 21–20, but Salvia and Mia Campanile delivered timely kills to secure a 25–21 win. King's then dominated the third frame, as Izzy Deluco sparked a strong service run and Jessica Menze added key blocks to help close out a 25–12 victory.
As a team, King's hit .234 with eight blocks in the win. Bolich and Arezina led the attack with seven kills each, while Campanile and Salvia combined for 11 more. Towsey dished out 17 assists with six digs, and Williams capped her milestone day with another 23 digs, finishing with 53 across both matches.
With her performance, Williams now ranks fourth all-time in career digs at King's College with 1,392, solidifying her place among the top defenders in program history. She now sets her sights on third place, as she is only 23 digs away from claiming the spot. The Monarchs (4–1) will return to action on Tuesday at McGrane, taking on the Broncos of SUNY Delhi.
