Monarchs Win Fourth-Straight Home Meet

WILKES-BARRE, PA (January 14, 2025) -- The King's College men's swim team won their fourth consecutive home meet at the Scandlon Natatorium this afternoon with a 99-62 victory over FDU-Florham. The win puts the Monarchs at 9-7 overall with a perfect 4-0 home record, as the Devils now stand at 0-5 in competitions this season.

In the group events, the squad of Christopher Maciejczyk, Kyle McDevitt, Julian Zoquier, and Chase Kubis finished nearly two seconds behind first in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:52.08.

The team of Matthew Maciejczyk, Stefan Lakoseljac, Chris Dutko, and Connor Scheckner were triumphant in the 200-yard freestyle relay at 1:39.65.

In the individual events, Dutko and C.Maciejczyk placed first and second in the 1,000-yard freestyle as Dutko swam to the wall in 12:06.83 and C.Maciejczyk stopped the clock at 13:10.25.

Scheckner was victorious in the 200-yard IM as he touched the blocked in 2:05.31 while Zoquier placed third at 2:24.98. M.Maciejczyk and Lakoseljac claimed second and third with times of 1:07.56 and 1:07.99 in the 100-yard butterfly.

Kubis won the 100-yard freestyle by swimming a time of 52.80 and Scheckner claimed his second victory of the day by topping the 100-yard backstroke in 59.31.

In the 500-yard freestyle, Dutko earned first for a second time this afternoon by touching the block in 5:47.69. In the 100-yard breaststroke, McDevitt posted a second place finish at 1:08.84.

The Monarchs return to the Scandlon Natatorium on Saturday, January 24th, taking on Moravian University in a Senior Day matchup at 1:00 p.m.
