DALLAS, PA (January 21, 2026) – The King's College women's basketball team fell on the road to Misericordia University, 72-52, Wednesday night at the Anderson Sports Center in MAC Freedom action.
The Cougars jumped out to an early lead, outscoring the Monarchs 23-15 in the first quarter before extending the advantage with a 17-9 second quarter to take a 40-24 lead into halftime.
King's looked to respond in the third, but Misericordia continued to control the pace, winning the frame 22-14. The Monarchs showed resilience in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Cougars 14-10 and putting together a small late push, but the comeback effort came up short as Misericordia secured the 72-52 victory.
Gianna Dickson led King's with 17 points, shooting 5-of-7 from three-point range, while Lauren Casey added 14 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Irelynd Long chipped in eight points, and Elise Larson contributed five points off the bench.
Despite the loss, the Monarchs finished the game shooting 44.4% from beyond the arc and ended the night with a strong fourth-quarter effort to close out the contest. Their next game is home against Arcadia this Saturday at 1:00 PM.
