Lewis’ Historic Triple-Double Lifts Women's Basketball to Conference Win Over FDU-Florham

WILKES-BARRE, PA (January 31, 2026) — Behind a historic performance from Cadie Lewis, the King's College women's basketball team earned an important MAC Freedom victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating FDU-Florham 83–75 inside McGrane Gymnasium. The Monarchs overcame a slow start and used a dominant second-quarter surge to take control of the game.

The contest opened with both teams trading baskets in a fast-paced first quarter, with FDU-Florham holding a slim 18–16 edge after 10 minutes. King's found its rhythm early from the perimeter, knocking down three three-pointers in the opening frame, but struggled to contain the Devils' transition attack.

Momentum shifted dramatically in the second quarter, as the Monarchs delivered their best stretch of the afternoon. King's opened the period on a 10–2 run, sparked by consecutive three-pointers from Gianna Dickson and Cadie Lewis, forcing an FDU-Florham timeout. The Monarchs continued to pour it on, shooting nearly 60 percent from the field in the quarter and outscoring the Devils 29–18 to take a 45–36 lead into halftime.

King's carried that energy into the third quarter, using defensive pressure to generate scoring opportunities in transition. A 12–4 run midway through the period pushed the Monarchs' lead to its largest of the game at 20 points. Lauren Casey dominated the paint during the stretch, scoring on multiple second-chance opportunities, while Irelynd Long added timely perimeter shooting to keep the momentum on King's side. The Monarchs held a 65–55 advantage heading into the final quarter.

FDU-Florham attempted to mount a comeback in the fourth, trimming the deficit to single digits with just over three minutes remaining. The Devils knocked down a pair of baskets to cut the lead to eight, but King's responded with poise at the free-throw line. Lewis and Casey combined to go 6-for-8 from the stripe in the final two minutes, sealing the conference victory.

Lewis delivered the most complete performance of her career, recording a triple-double with 25 points, 14 assists, and 10 rebounds. The 14 assists marked a career high and rank second-most in a single game in program history, while her 25 points tied her career high. Lewis also knocked down six three-pointers and played all 40 minutes in the win.

Casey posted another strong double-double, finishing with 18 points and 13 rebounds while anchoring the Monarchs inside. Dickson added 14 points, including two three-pointers, and Long contributed eight points on efficient shooting. Claire Aufiero chipped in 10 points and six rebounds, while Gabby Marsola provided a spark off the bench with six points.

As a team, King's shot 50.0 percent from the field and 40.0 percent from three-point range, knocking down 12 triples on the afternoon. The Monarchs also dished out 23 assists on 28 made field goals and won the rebounding battle 39–32, showcasing one of their most complete offensive performances of the season.

The win improves King's to 9–10 overall and 2–6 in MAC Freedom play, as the Monarchs continue conference action looking to build momentum down the stretch of the season. Their next contest is Wednesday, February 4, when they head to Hoboken, NJ to take on the Ducks of Stevens.
