WILKES-BARRE, PA (March 14, 2026) -- King's dropped a road matchup to Wilkes on Friday afternoon, falling 16-4 in non-conference women's lacrosse action at McCarthy Stadium.
Wilkes jumped out to an early lead, scoring twice in the opening minutes before King's responded midway through the first quarter. Emilee Schultz got the Monarchs on the board at the 9:43 mark, finishing a feed from Sarah Schultz to cut the deficit to 2-1. The Colonels answered with another goal late in the period to take a 3-1 lead after the first quarter.
Wilkes extended its advantage in the second quarter, scoring five times while holding the Monarchs scoreless in the frame. The hosts carried an 8-1 lead into halftime after capitalizing on several offensive possessions and controlling the pace of play.
King's showed signs of life in the third quarter with a pair of goals during a strong offensive stretch. Sydney Stratton opened the scoring for the Monarchs in the period with a free-position goal off an assist from Brooke Harmonosky. Moments later, Harmonosky found the back of the net herself, finishing a pass from Sarah Schultz to bring the score to 9-3. Wilkes added two goals before the end of the quarter to push its lead to 11-3.
The Monarchs added one more goal early in the fourth quarter when Emilee Schultz scored off a feed from Harmonosky, but Wilkes responded with five goals down the stretch to secure the 16-4 victory.
Stratton, Harmonosky, and Emilee Schultz each scored for King's, with Schultz recording two goals in the contest. Harmonosky led the team with two assists, while Sarah Schultz also added an assist. Alyssa Reeber recorded 18 saves in goal for the Monarchs while facing heavy offensive pressure from Wilkes.
King's will look to regroup as the Monarchs are back at home on Wednesday March 18 at 4:00 p.m..
