GLENSIDE, PA (March 26, 2026) -- The King's College baseball team dropped a tough Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom contest on Thursday afternoon at Skip Wilson Field, falling to Arcadia University by a score of 20-6. The loss moves the Monarchs to 3-12 overall and 0-7 in MAC play, while the Knights climb to 12-6 on the season and 6-1 in conference action.
King's opened the game with a run in the top of the first.
Tate Pentasuglio reached and later scored on a defensive error, giving the Monarchs a 1-0 lead before Arcadia came to the plate.
Connor Reynolds took the mound for the bottom of the first, where Arcadia responded with five runs to seize the early momentum. The Knights added nine more in the second inning to extend the lead to 14-1.
After Arcadia's scoring surge, the Monarchs steadied defensively in the bottom of the third. The Knights were held scoreless as
Alexander Breitfeller came on in a relief appearance and fanned the leadoff batter before a groundout and strikeout ended the frame, keeping the margin unchanged going into the fourth.
King's responded in the top of the fourth with its most productive inning at the plate.
Owen Kosar ripped a leadoff single and
Jason Cunha worked a walk before
Jaiden Wanamaker lined a two‑run single to center, trimming the deficit and establishing some momentum for the Monarchs. Arcadia answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning to re‑extend the lead.
Following a scoreless top of the fifth,
Brian Beltre and the King's defense again held Arcadia off the board in the bottom half. A leadoff single was erased thanks to a pair of outs in the outfield along with a force at second to end the inning.
Arcadia added four runs in the sixth, but King's continued to compete and mounted a response in the top of the seventh.
Kevin Kullman found the gap in right-center for a leadoff single, followed by a pinch hit walk by
Jack McDonald.
Sean Noone came off the bench with an RBI single to bring home
Ian Campbell, who pinch ran for Kullman. A wild pitch moved both runners into scoring position, setting the stage for Pentasuglio to bring home a run after reaching on a throwing error to make it 20-5.
Troy Neff followed with an RBI on a fielder's choice to cap the three‑run inning for the Monarchs.
Dusty Shaver followed with a scoreless frame in the bottom of the seventh. Arcadia put a pair of runners on base, but the Monarchs recorded three outs on balls in play, including two force plays at second base to strand traffic.
The Monarchs turned in one final clean inning defensively in the bottom of the eighth.
Christian Galimi worked a scoreless frame, allowing just one baserunner while inducing two popups and a flyout to keep Arcadia off the board. King's went down swinging in the bottom of the ninth, as Neff mashed a two-out triple over the center fielder before a groundout sealed the 20-6 result for the Knights.
Offensively, King's totaled eight hits. Wanamaker drove in two runs and worked a walk, while Pentasuglio collected a hit and an RBI. Noone delivered an RBI single off the bench and Kullman finished 2-for-3. Neff added an RBI and a late triple, while Kosar and Cunha both reached base to help spark rallies.
On the mound, Reynolds handled the opening inning before King's turned to
Noah Gesford, Breitfeller, Beltre, Shaver, and Galimi out of the bullpen. The Monarchs logged scoreless innings in the third, fifth, seventh, and eighth, showing defensive resilience throughout the road contest.
King's returns home to Lipo Field on Sunday, facing Arcadia in a doubleheader to close out their three-game MAC Freedom series. First pitch against the Knights in Game 1 is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
