Lynch Scores 100th Goal and Rickards Makes 300th Save in Loss at FDU-Florham

MADISON, NJ (April 11, 2026) — The King's College men's lacrosse team dropped a hard-fought MAC Freedom matchup on Saturday afternoon, falling 11-9 at FDU-Florham.

FDU-Florham struck first in the opening quarter, building a 3-1 lead after the first 15 minutes. Brenden Lynch accounted for the Monarchs' lone goal of the frame on the man advantage as King's looked to settle in early.

The Monarchs responded in the second quarter, tightening things up defensively while finding more rhythm on offense. King's outscored the Devils 3-1 in the period, with a Ryan Lynch hattrick to even the score at 4-4 heading into halftime.

King's carried that momentum into the third quarter with a strong push. After FDU-Florham briefly regained the lead, the Monarchs answered with a key run to tie the game at 6-6. Ryan Lynch opened the scoring to take the first lead of the game for the Monarchs, continuing his dominant offensive performance and Braydon Buckingham scored to take the lead again to keep King's within striking distance entering the final quarter.

FDU-Florham used a late surge in the fourth quarter to pull away, scoring five goals to take control. Despite three fourth quarter goals from the Monarchs, including another from Ryan Lynch and one from Brenden Lynch and Connor Walsh, King's was unable to complete the comeback as the Devils secured the 11-9 victory.

Ryan Lynch led all scorers with five goals, reaching a major milestone with his 100th career goal, tying for the most in program history. Brenden Lynch added two goals, while Walsh and Buckingham each contributed a goal in the balanced effort. Walsh also added two assists on the day, along with EJ Schreiner, Arjun Williams, and Josh Hilpp each grabbing an apple of their own.

In goal, Ryan Rickards recorded his 300th career save while making ten stops to keep the Monarchs competitive throughout the contest.

Despite multiple comeback efforts and strong individual performances, King's fell just short in a tightly contested conference matchup.

The Monarchs' will look to bounce back in its next outing as they host Arcadia on Wednesday April 15 at 7:00 p.m. in MAC Freedom play.
