Lynch Becomes All-Time Leading Goalscorer in Loss to Arcadia

WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 15, 2026) — The King's College men's lacrosse team fell to Arcadia University, 16–7, Wednesday evening at McCarthy Stadium.

Arcadia struck early in the opening quarter, but it was King's that got on the board first as Brenden Lynch finished off a feed from Braydon Buckingham at the 13:34 mark. The Monarchs briefly held a 2–1 advantage following an EJ Schreiner goal off an assist from Connor Walsh, but Arcadia responded with three unanswered tallies to close the quarter and take a 4–2 lead after one.

King's cut into the deficit early in the second quarter when Ryan Lynch buried an unassisted goal, his 105th in his career, to become the program's all-time leading scorer, trimming the margin to 4–3. After Arcadia answered with a man-up score, the Monarchs stayed within striking distance as Lynch added a second goal of the quarter on a man-up opportunity, assisted by Walsh, to make it 7–4.

However, Arcadia seized control late in the half, scoring three straight goals over the final five minutes to take a 10–4 lead into halftime.

The Knights continued their momentum into the third quarter, outscoring King's 3–1 in the frame. Brenden Lynch accounted for the Monarchs' lone goal of the period with an unassisted strike at the 10:40 mark, but Arcadia extended its advantage to 13–5 heading into the final quarter.

In the fourth, Arcadia added two quick goals to stretch the lead before King's responded. Brenden Lynch completed his hat trick with an unassisted goal, and Josh Hilpp converted on a man-up opportunity off a Buckingham assist to cut the deficit to 15–7. Arcadia added a late goal to seal the 16–7 final.

Brenden Lynch led the Monarch offense with three goals, while Ryan Lynch added two goals in his record-setting performance. Schreiner and Hilpp each found the back of the net, and Walsh and Buckingham chipped in two assists apiece.

In goal, Ryan Rickards had a career night with 29 saves over 60 minutes of action. It is the most for a single game in his career and puts him third all-time in a single game in program history.

Arcadia held advantages in shots (73–25), ground balls (67–30), and faceoffs (24–3), controlling possession throughout the contest.

King's will look to bounce back in its next outing as the Monarchs travel to Lebanon Valley College on Saturday, April 18 for a 1:00 p.m. start.
