Softball Lands Four on CSC Academic All-District Team

WILKES‑BARRE, PA (May 26, 2026)-- On Tuesday afternoon, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the 2025‑26 Academic All‑District® Softball Teams, with four members of the King's College softball program earning recognition. This year's honorees include junior first baseman Paige Bergan, sophomore pitcher Alyssa Fox, senior catcher/third baseman Ellie Higdon, and junior pitcher Madisyn vonFrisch.

Bergan collects her second CSC Academic All‑District® honor after previously earning the award in 2025. The junior appeared in 35 games with 30 starts this spring, posting a .257 batting average with 26 hits, 21 RBIs, and five doubles. She also went a perfect 2‑for‑2 on stolen‑base attempts and committed just one error at first base.

Fox earns her first CSC Academic All‑District® selection following a standout sophomore campaign in the circle. The right‑hander appeared in 23 games with 18 starts, tossing 122.0 innings with 60 strikeouts and six wins with a 4.70 ERA. She recorded 17 complete games and made program history on March 18 by throwing the first perfect game in King's softball history in a win over Valley Forge on March 9th.

Higdon picks up her second CSC Academic All‑District® honor after previously being recognized in 2024. The senior appeared in 35 games with 33 starts between catcher and third base, hitting .286 with 30 hits, 16 RBIs, and a .336 on‑base percentage while committing just one error defensively.

vonFrisch earns her second CSC Academic All‑District® nod after also being honored in 2025. The junior pitcher appeared in 21 games with 20 starts, throwing 113.0 innings with 37 strikeouts and six wins to go with her 5.14 ERA. She recorded 14 complete games and held opponents to a .333 average in her final campaign as a Monarch.

The 2026 Academic All-District® Softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
