WILKES-BARRE, PA (July 3, 2026) -- Executive Director of Athletics and Recreation Andy Orlowski has announced the addition of Ethan Poor as the Athletics Graduate Assistant on Friday morning, welcoming a familiar face back to the Monarchs' athletic department.
Poor joins the King's Athletics staff after serving as an athletic intern within the department during the 2025-26 academic year. Throughout his internship, he gained experience across a variety of operational areas, including game-day administration, event management, student-athlete support, and departmental communications.
During his time at King's, Poor helped coordinate pregame communications for visiting teams and officials, assisted with intramural programming, supported game-day operations, and worked alongside the Athletic Communications staff with broadcast and technical support in addition to conducting on-camera interviews for the department's "Student-Athlete Spotlight" series. He also helped streamline departmental processes by creating automated systems for class excusals and student-athlete information management.
"Ethan completed his internship with us last year and immediately stood out for his enthusiasm, initiative, and commitment to our student-athletes," said Orlowski. "His willingness to take on any challenge made him an easy choice to join our team. We are excited to welcome him to King's Athletics, where he will help provide a first-class experience for all Monarchs."
A 2026 graduate of Misericordia University, Poor earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management with Cum Laude honors. While a student at Misericordia, he was heavily involved in athletic operations, serving in game-day management roles for numerous varsity sports and helping oversee staffing, event setup, public address responsibilities, and scoreboard operations.
In addition to his work in athletic administration, Poor competed as a member of the Misericordia football team and the track and field program. As an offensive lineman and thrower, he gained firsthand experience as a collegiate student-athlete while developing a passion for supporting the student-athlete experience behind the scenes.
Poor also gained experience in recruiting and social media through his work with the NCAA and ACHA ice hockey programs at Misericordia, where he assisted with recruiting operations, campus visits, graphic design, and digital communications.
"Returning to King's College as a Graduate Assistant after my internship is an incredible opportunity to continue giving back to a community that has given me so much," said Poor. "I'm excited to build on the relationships and experiences I've gained while helping enhance the student-athlete experience and support the continued growth of King's Athletics."
As a graduate assistant, Poor will assist with a variety of responsibilities across the athletic department, including event operations, facility management, student-athlete support, and other administrative duties that contribute to the success of King's Athletics.
