WILKES-BARRE, PA (July 6, 2026) -- Head coach Phil Pierfy has continued to build his coaching staff, announcing the addition of Corey Attivo as an assistant coach for the King's College men's basketball program on Wednesday.

Attivo reunites with Pierfy after a four-year playing career at Arcadia University, where he developed into a key contributor for the Knights. Starting all 51 games during his junior and senior seasons, Attivo appeared in 95 career contests and finished with 504 points and 273 rebounds while helping Arcadia capture the 2023 MAC Freedom Championship.

"We are thrilled to add Corey to our staff here at King's as he begins his coaching journey," said Pierfy. "Over his four years of competing in college, Corey has grown into a leader whose reach transcends the basketball court."

A versatile forward, Attivo enjoyed the most productive stretch of his career over his final two seasons. As a senior in 2025-26, he started 26 games and averaged 9.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game while shooting 56.7 percent from the field. He followed up a junior campaign in which he averaged 7.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per contest.

Prior to joining the Monarchs, Attivo gained coaching and player development experience throughout Central Pennsylvania basketball circles while establishing strong connections within the region.

Pierfy believes Attivo's playing experience and understanding of the game will make an immediate impact on the Monarchs.
"His knowledge and experience as a big man in college will be extremely helpful in our player development," said Pierfy. "In addition, his work ethic and personality, along with his strong ties to Central PA basketball, make him a great asset to the program."

Attivo also served as a Resident Assistant at Arcadia and was actively involved with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) during his collegiate career.

"I am excited to start this next chapter in my basketball story and reunite with Coach Phil," said Attivo. "I am looking forward to helping these guys develop into better student-athletes."

Pierfy added that Attivo will play an important role in all areas of the program moving forward.
"We look forward to having Corey assist the program in all aspects, including game planning, skill development, and recruiting."

Attivo attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Arcadia University.

As an assistant coach, Attivo will assist with all aspects of the King's men's basketball program, including recruiting, player development, scouting, practice planning, and game-day operations.
