WILKES-BARRE, PA. (SEPTEMBER 12, 2026) -- The King's College men's soccer team fell to Ithaca College, 2-0, on Saturday night at McCarthy Stadium. With the loss, the Monarchs move to 2-2-1 on the season, while the Bombers improve to 4-0-1.
After a scoreless opening half, Ithaca broke through in the 67th minute to take a 1-0 lead. The Bombers doubled their advantage in the 72nd minute to make it a 2-0 contest.
The Monarchs continued to battle in the final 20 minutes, but Ithaca's goalkeeper turned aside King's lone shot on target. Costantino Villano recorded King's only shot on goal, while
Joaquin Cedillo and
Mordocher Musinguzi each had late attempts that missed the target.
Ben Van Valkenburg made three saves in goal for the Monarchs, including two in the second half.
Ithaca finished with a 19-10 advantage in shots and held a 5-1 edge in shots on goal. Both teams earned five corner kicks.
King's returns to McCarthy Stadium for a home contest on Wednesday, September 16, as the Monarchs matchup with Union College.
