WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 15, 2026) -- The King's College field hockey team fell to the University of Scranton, 5-0, Tuesday evening at McCarthy Stadium and Betzler Field, dropping the Monarchs to 1-4 on the season while the Royals remained undefeated and improved to 5-0.

Scranton opened the scoring midway through the first quarter and added another goal shortly after to take a 2-0 lead into the second quarter. The Royals continued to pressure the Monarchs throughout the opening half, outshooting King's 15-2 over the first 30 minutes.

King's goalkeeper Tierney Hogan kept the Monarchs within striking distance, making eight saves through the first half as Scranton carried its two-goal advantage into halftime.

The Royals added a third goal late in the third quarter before tacking on two more in the fourth to secure the 5-0 victory.

Hogan finished the night with 24 saves, marking her most saves in a single game this season, and for the fifth most saves by a Monarch goalkeeper in program history. Scranton finished with a 43-2 advantage in shots and a 9-1 edge in penalty corners, while King's was held without a shot on goal.

The Monarchs return to action Saturday, September 19, traveling to Neumann University for their next contest.
