WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 17, 2026) - The King's College women's volleyball team returned home Thursday evening, falling to Dickinson College in three sets inside McGrane Gymnasium. The Devils took the match by scores of 25-18, 25-19 and 25-21 as the Monarchs moved to 6-2 on the season.
Bella Boylan led the King's attack with a team-high 11 kills while adding 17 digs, three service aces and two solo blocks. Weronika Malinowski followed with eight kills and 13 digs, while Ariela Towsey handed out a team-best 18 assists to go along with seven digs. Riley McArdle added 13 digs, and Saoirse Bilodeau contributed two kills and a pair of blocks.
The two sides went back and forth early in the opening set, with King's taking an 11-9 advantage behind a Boylan kill during a three-point run. Dickinson responded with six consecutive points to move ahead 15-11. The Monarchs pulled back within three at 20-17, but the Devils closed the frame with five of the final six points to take the opener, 25-18.
Dickinson jumped out to a 6-2 lead in the second before King's began to chip away. Trailing 11-6, the Monarchs rattled off four straight points to pull within one at 11-10. King's remained within striking distance and cut the deficit to 17-15 following consecutive kills from Malinowski and Boylan, but Dickinson maintained its advantage down the stretch to take the set, 25-19.
The Monarchs continued to battle in the third. After Dickinson opened a 16-10 advantage, King's fought back late behind kills from Malinowski, Bilodeau and Boylan. A Boylan kill capped a three-point run that brought the Monarchs within three at 23-20 and forced a Dickinson timeout. King's added another point following the break, but the Devils secured two of the final three points to close out the match with a 25-21 victory.
King's returns to McGrane Gymnasium on Saturday, September 19 for a home tri-match. The Monarchs will take on Rutgers-Newark at 12 p.m. before facing Wilson at 4 p.m.
