LANCASTER, PA. (September 19, 2026) -- The King's College women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Lancaster Bible College on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Monarchs fall to 2-5 on the season, while Lancaster Bible advances to 1-4.
The Monarchs and Chargers played to a scoreless draw through the opening 79 minutes, with King's goalkeeper
Kelsey Sorensen keeping Lancaster Bible off the scoreboard with several key saves. Sorensen turned aside seven shots in the contest, including a penalty kick in the final two minutes of the first half.
King's generated eight shots throughout the afternoon, putting three on frame.
Maya Parker,
Mackenzie Seeley and
Isabella Pacia each recorded shots on goal, while
Madison Jellema nearly broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute when her shot hit the right post.
Lancaster Bible found the breakthrough in the 81st minute to take a 1-0 advantage.
The Monarchs continued to pressure late, earning two corner kicks following the goal, but Lancaster Bible held on to preserve the shutout.
Lancaster Bible finished with an 18-8 advantage in shots and held a 9-3 edge in shots on goal. Both teams recorded five corner kicks.
Sorensen finished with seven saves for King's, while Lancaster Bible recorded three saves.
The Monarchs return to action Wednesday, September 23, traveling to Union, N.J., to take on Kean University at 7:30 p.m.
