Women's Volleyball Drops Conference Road Match at Lebanon Valley

ANNVILLE, PA (September 29, 2026) - The King's College women's volleyball team fell to Lebanon Valley College in four sets on Tuesday evening at Sorrentino Gymnasium. The Dutchmen took the opening two sets, 25-19 and 25-18, before the Monarchs battled to a 27-25 victory in the third. Lebanon Valley answered with a 25-19 win in the fourth to secure the 3-1 decision, moving King's to 9-4 overall and 1-2 in MAC Freedom play. 

Bella Boylan led the Monarchs with 14 kills and 19 digs, while Weronika Malinowski followed with 13 kills and 19 digs. Emma Bolich added eight kills on a .211 hitting percentage and two block assists. Ariela Towsey directed the King's offense with 30 assists while adding three kills and five digs, and Riley McArdle finished with 17 digs.

King's jumped out to a 4-1 advantage in the opening set, but Lebanon Valley responded with five straight points to move ahead 6-4. The Dutchmen later extended their lead to 11-5 before the Monarchs began to chip away. King's pulled within four at 19-23 following a Leary kill and a Lebanon Valley attack error, but the hosts took the final two points to secure the opening set, 25-19.

The Monarchs again started quickly in the second, racing out to a 4-0 lead behind kills from Malinowski and Boylan and a Malinowski service ace. King's maintained the advantage at 10-6 before Lebanon Valley worked its way back to tie the frame at 10-10. The teams traded points through a 15-15 tie, but the Dutchmen used a late run to pull away and take the set, 25-18.

King's responded with its strongest set of the night, building an early 8-3 advantage behind kills from Hannah Swinsburg, Bella Boylan and Emma Bolich, along with an Isabella Horvat service ace. Lebanon Valley battled back to tie the frame at 10-10, and the teams went back and forth from there. Consecutive Malinowski kills gave King's a 20-18 advantage, while Boylan later put the Monarchs ahead 23-22. Lebanon Valley reached set point at 24-23 and again at 25-24, but King's answered both times before eventually taking the tightly contested frame, 27-25, to extend the match.

Lebanon Valley jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the fourth before King's battled back, using kills from Boylan and Towsey along with three Dutchmen attack errors to pull within one at 8-7. The Monarchs remained within one at 11-10 following a Malinowski kill, but Lebanon Valley responded with six consecutive points to open a 17-10 advantage. King's made a late push, cutting the deficit to 21-17 behind kills from Malinowski, Horvat and Saoirse Bilodeau and a Bolich service ace. The Dutchmen answered by taking four of the final five points to close out the set, 25-19, and secure the match.

The Monarchs are back in action on Thursday October 1, as they hit the road to take on SUNY-Delhi in Delhi, NY at 6:00 p.m..
