KING'S WOMEN'S TANNIS DROPS 6-3 DECISION TO ALVERNIA
WILKES-BARRE – The King's College women's tennis team captured two of the three doubles contest to start the match but were unable to make the early lead stand up as visiting Alvernia University rallied for a 6-3 victory Monday at Kirby Park.
With the win, Alvernia improved to 8-2 while King's slipped to 7-2.
In doubles, King's Jillian Tallarico and Diana Darby posted an 8-5 victory over Jenny McKee and Kayla Morgan, at the first flight, while Christy Rossowski and Lauren Breen walked away with an 8-4 triumph over Lauren Ertel and Lillian Snyder.
In singles, however, King's dropped five of six matches. Breen was a6-1, 6-2 winner against Karoline Miller as the only Lady Monarch individual winner.
King's returns to the court on Wednesday when the Lady Monarchs host FDU-Florham at 3:30 p.m. at Kirby Park.
