EDWARDSVILLE, PA (September 5, 2026) -- The King's College women's tennis team embarked on their fall 2026 campaign Saturday morning, welcoming seven visiting programs to Kirby Park for the annual King's Invitational.
 
Student-athletes from host King's, Lycoming, Marywood, Misericordia, Muhlenberg, Penn College, Rutgers-Camden, and Wilkes competed throughout the day across 11 singles and doubles flights.
 
Kimberly Dinh opened the tournament in the No. 1 singles flight, dropping a 6-1, 6-0 decision to Penn College in quarterfinal action. Monica Stratton made her Monarch debut in the No. 2 singles bracket, falling to Muhlenberg by scores of 6-2 and 6-3. Emma Bak also made her King's debut on Saturday, competing in the No. 3 singles flight. Bak battled Wilkes before falling 6-3, 6-1 in the quarterfinal round.
 
Sophie Kalinowski took to the court for her first collegiate competition in the No. 4 singles bracket, dropping a 6-0, 6-1 decision to Rutgers-Camden in quarterfinal play. At No. 5 singles, Miley Caetano advanced to the semifinals after receiving a quarterfinal victory by forfeit. Muhlenberg later defeated Caetano in straight sets to advance to the championship match against Wilkes.
 
Allison Van Pelt competed in the No. 6 singles flight, where Lycoming earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory in quarterfinal action. Madison Brown rounded out singles action making her Monarch debut in the No. 7 flight, where Misericordia earned a 6-0 victory.
 
In doubles competition, Dinh and Stratton opened the No. 1 doubles bracket against Penn College, dropping a 6-2 decision. Bak and Kalinowski turned in the Monarchs' most competitive doubles performances of the afternoon in the No. 2 flight. The Monarch pairing stayed within striking distance throughout before ultimately falling to Wilkes, 6-3. Brown and Caetano closed the day's action by representing King's in the No. 3 doubles bracket, where Lycoming recorded a 6-1 victory.
 
The King's Invitational concludes on Sunday with championship matches scheduled across all singles and doubles flights. First serve from Kirby Park is set for 9:00 a.m.
