Brandon Cogley
WILKES-BARRE --  King's College football standout Brandon Cogley (Bethlehem/Freedom) has been named to the 2009 D3Football.com All-East Region squad. He was selected as a third-team choice.

A 6-2, 290-pound offensive lineman helped the Monarchs to finish second in MAC rushing at 176.4 yards per-game while producing the second-leading rusher in the conference. He anchored a line that allowed just seven quarterback sacks all season long, the fewest in the MAC.

Cogley was a two-time All-Middle Atlantic Conference selection and will go down as one of the most versatile linemen in Monarch history. As a junior he was named first-team All-MAC playing left guard. As a senior he earned a spot on the all-league team playing right tackle the entire season. He was also the Monarchs' starting center as a sophomore and wrapped up his collegiate career as a three-year starter.  Cogley was also selected as an alternate in the North-South Division III Football Classic held last week in Salem, Va.
“We are very happy Brandon has been recognized for such an outstanding honor as he has been truly dedicated to King's football on and off the field,” King's interim head coach Jim Anderson stated.  “He has worked extremely hard in the weight room and on the practice field to become the player he is today and the fact he excelled at three different positions on the offensive line speaks a great deal about his intelligence and ability to be coached. He has enjoyed a tremendous career for us and is very deserving of the honor.”
