King's Falls to Susquehanna in Monarch Classic Opener, Stockton Outlasts Albright in Other Matchup

KING'S FALLS TO SUSQUEHANNA 61-54 IN MONARCH CLASSIC OPENER
(Stockton Defeats Albright in First Tourney Matchup)
 
WILKES-BARRE – Spenser Spencer scored each of his 16 points in the second half to power Susquehanna University to a 61-54 victory over host King's College in the opening round of the Ramada Inn/Monarch Classic Friday in Scandlon Gymnasium.

With the win, Susquehanna advances to the championship game where it will face 2009 NCAA Division III national runner-up Richard Stockton Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Stockton reached the title game with a 72-62 triumph over Albright. King's and Albright will meet in the 1:00 p.m. consolation game.

After going 0-for-5 in the first half, Spencer was 6-of-7 from the field and 4-of-5 from three-point range over the final 20 minutes of play, enabling the Crusaders to lead by as many as 18 points in the second half. J.T. Wilson added 11 points for the Crusaders while Bryan Majors added nine. 
 
King's was paced by Kevin Conroy with 11 points while Kyle Stackhouse followed with nine points. Jim Schule chipped in with seven points.

STOCKTON STORMS PAST ALBRIGHT TO REACH MONARCH CLASSIC FINAL
 
WILKES-BARRE – Richard Stockton College, the 2009 NCAA Division III national runner-up, overcame a three-point first-half deficit to outscore previously undefeated Albright College 39-26 in the second half as the Ospreys reached the Ramanda Inn/Monarch Classic championship game with a hard-fought 72-62 triumph.
 
Stockton improved to 6-2 with the win while Albright slipped to 6-1.

Santini Lancioni led the way with 21 points and six assists while Omar Smith added 14 points and 15 rebounds in the game. Kai Massaquoi chipped in with 10 points and six boards.
 
Albright was paced by Andrew Pomager with 16 points and nine rebounds while Matt Ashcroft followed with 14 points and six rebounds. Jeff Sparrow chipped in with 10 points off the bench.
