(Games to start late as King's caught in traffic jam)
PURCHASE, NY – The King's College softball team returns to action Monday when the Lady Monarchs travel t o Purchase, NY to face Manhattanville College in a 3:30 p.m. Freedom Conference doubleheader.
The games will start late as the King's bus was caught in a traffic jam and the team did not arrive at Manhattanville until 3:45 p.m., despite leaving at 11:00 a.m.

King's enters the twin bill with a 10-8 overall record while standing 3-3 in Freedom Conference games. Manhattanville, meanwhile, is 7-11 and 1-3 in league play.
The Lady Monarchs are led by junior shortstop Meaghan Galvin who is batting a team-high .462 (24-52) with five doubles, two triples, and nine RBI. Senior second-baseman Abbey Knoblauch follows at .429 (24-56) with three doubles, one triple, and eight RBI. Becky Loring is hitting third among King's regulars with a .389 (14-36) average, including two doubles, one home run, and 11 RBI, while sophomore third-baseman Gretchen Tholen follows with a .385 (20-52) mark with three doubles, two home runs, and 13 RBI.
Junior Lindsey Hoerner is the team's top hurler with a 5-5 record, including a 3.46 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 52.2 innings of work. Freshman Shawna Walp is 2-3 with a 4.49 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 34.1 innings.
King's will then hit the road again on Wednesday when the Lady Monarchs visit traditional national power Ithaca College for a 3:00 p.m. doubleheader in Ithaca, NY
